Update Sep 19: Very, very unfortunately, Fish passed away at the ER. She was given the best care, medications, IV, and she even managed to eat some kibbles. All signs were good, until they found suddenly that her heart had stopped beating. She was comfortable and at ease in the last moments of her life, and loved very, very dearly.
It feels ironic that I still have to pay for her vet bill, even though she has passed.
As I’m writing this, Dipsy is at the vet’s — regular one, not the ER — for her sickness as well. She had already gotten medication from a prior visit, and I brought her in for additional support. She has diarrhea still, low energy, and a complete lack of appetite as well as an aversion to food. I had to rub wet food on her teeth for her to lick, and was given a high calorie paste to help with her refusing to eat.
Please read the rest of the story for the whole situation. I’m heartbroken and grieving for Fish, and hadn’t managed to sleep or eat well for the past two days, and to rewrite the whole story on GoFundMe is too painful.
All the funds will go toward paying for Fish’s vet bill and toward Dipsy’s recovery. If there is anything surplus, it will go toward caring for Dipsy. Please share this GoFundMe; it would be extremely helpful. Thank you so, so much.

I’m currently a college student, and I desperately need your help. Just hours ago today, I took home Fish (the tabby) and Dipsy (the black cat), who were from a stray’s litter that a friend’s family kept in their yard. I soon realized that they are sick with discharges coming out of their eyes and diarrhea, and booked a vet appointment for them immediately. Before that ever got to happen, on the same day I took them home, I had to rush Fish to the ER animal hospital.
Fish is unbelievably underweight and small (the vet assumed that she was two months old; she’s three months), has a severe upper respiratory infection, diarrhea, and fleas. She is pale and her body temperature is consistently low, and she was hospitalized. With all the fleas, her blood pressure is also very low to the point that the doctor isn’t able to draw any blood. Thus, she couldn’t even be given a cat blood transfusion — they are literally giving her dog blood, which can happen only once in a cat’s life time (due to cats not naturally having antibodies to dog blood, but will develop them after getting a transfusion), and is unorthodox to do. As I write this passage, Fish is still in the ER.
Dipsy, in comparison to Fish, is not as sick, so she didn’t have to go to the ER. In fact, I think her eye discharges were clearing up a bit. But she has been having consistent diarrhea; she’s not eating much, and it’s safe to assume that she has fleas. She will get vet attention in a day and a half, which is the closest time I can manage to bring her to a vet.
So far, Fish’s vet bills have been very expensive (stacking up from the tests and her hospitalization), and I don’t even know about Dipsy yet. I had set aside a budget to care for them and planned for general vet visits, but I was never told that they would be so sickly and this cost is hitting me completely out of the blue.
The money from this Gofundme campaign will go toward paying for their vet bills. I need your help. I will do anything and the best I can to give Dipsy and Fish a good life, and I won’t abandon them no matter what. But with my savings and my unfortunate status of a “broke college student”, I can’t do it alone. I desperately need your help: any amount, no matter how small, is beyond greatly appreciated. Please help me help Fish and Dipsy. I love them dearly, and more than anything want to see them home and healthy; please help me help them.
My apologies that I could not provide the best photos for them — I was in a rush to take Fish to an ER vet center, and did not slow down to take a picture of her conditions.
Even if you can’t donate, please share this Gofundme with others. And once again, any amount, even 50 cents, is beyond great help. Thank you so, so much.
If there are any surpluses from this Gofundme campaign after the vet bills, all of that money will be going toward taking care of Fish and Dipsy.
Please help me cover their vet bills and take care of them. I’m truly lost on what to do alone, and you can help me save their lives.
