Emergency vet bills for Bo

Hi, my name is Kim and I’m hoping to raise money to help pay for emergency vet bills for my cat, Bo. If you know me, you know that this cat truly means the absolute world to me. I was mentally in a really bad place and ever since getting Bo, he has become somewhat an emotional support pet for me. Bo is only about a year and 4 months old. A week ago Bo was started on antibiotics for what looked like a lung infection. Saturday night/early Sunday morning we had quite a scare when Bo suddenly had a very hard time breathing. We rushed him to the emergency vet where things were looking really bad at first. They immediately put him into an oxygen chamber and when his breathing was steady enough, they took some X-rays and could see that he had a ton of fluid in his lungs. He has been at the emergency vet since around 1am Sunday and can’t stay out of the oxygen chamber for too long without his breathing getting heavy again. The doctor said they think it could be pneumonia and as of right now they have him on 2 types of antibiotics to try and see some improvement. I went to visit him last night and there was a ton of improvement in his mood. When I initially brought him in, he was limp and clearly very scared, but last night he was sitting up and happy to see people he recognized. He is still not in any state to bring home and we are not sure how long he will be there but I’m going back every day to visit him to see how he’s doing. We have already paid $4,000 to the emergency vet and that was only estimated to be the low end of what the final total will be. Depending on what kind of tests and care he requires in the next few days, the bill can get up to $10,000+. All money donated will be used to ease the financial stress this has put my family and me in.
