Emergency Vet Bills for Ainsley the Poodle

Donation protected
On Halloween three years ago, I head a small tap at the door quite late. I figured it was the geese who often came to the front door of my house on my small animal sanctuary if they were unhappy with their meal. When the tapping came back I got up to check and found a sweet little poodle dog, with a slip lead around his neck. He was so sweet and friendly I assumed he was lost. I followed the protocol for lost dogs, but, as it turned out, the little man was not claimed. My daughter named him Ainsley, because in olde English it means solitary or alone and this little man was definitely alone. Ainsley was a funny little guy, and, because I live rurally, I soon learned that he had been in a bad situation. I will never know how he got to my door, but I am forever grateful because he has seen me through some very tough times!

Last night, I woke to him trembling very hard. I thought that perhaps we had missed his poop walk, so took him about 1 a.m., when we came back in he drank some water and promptly threw up. Soon he was trembling so violently it looked similar to a seizure. I called the emergency vet and said what was happening and was told to bring him in. Poor Ainsley, after x-rays and blood draws it became clear that his blood chemistry was a mess. The vet wondered about rat poison or other toxin. She instructed me to take him to my regular vet hospital as soon as it opened. There they were able to do some additional testing that determined he had Addison's disease. This is good news in that it means he can be cured. The more difficult part is that it is a lifetime of treatment.

The two vet visits combined were $1800.00 Since the pandemic fundraising events have gone by the wayside, so I am turning to you to ask for your help paying for this emergency! Please give whatever you can, every little bit helps!

Tonight Ainsley is curled up in a bed near me. He is not back to normal but the horrible trembling and vomiting are gone! It was totally worth the lost night of sleep and the long drive through the desert . . .but I need your help on the financial side.
