Finances have been tight, work hasn't been as plentiful as it had been but I was going to eek through it as long as nothing went wrong. I've picked up some projects, getting by but on the pretense that nothing could go wrong.

That's when my cat, Penelope, said, "Oh hi! I don't feel well!"

At 3:30am, we found our way to the emergency vet and 3 hours later, I had a very high cat (who is still sleeping it off) and a sizable bill. Penelope will be fine (just waiting on labs) after a round of antibiotics and a nap, but my bank account took a hit and will have a harder time recovering.
