Emergency Vet Bill for Intoxicated Pet Cat
Donation protected
Hi, I'm the owner of a smart, energetic, free-spirited, amazing tree climber, and super sweet tabby cat named Leona. She's my only companion at home, the creative mind behind the scratches on my couch, and the main reason I wake up in the mornings!
Unfortunately, a few days ago, Leona became sick. She was puking, lethargic, dizzy, and not eating anything at all. I took her to the emergency animal hospital within a few hours of noticing she was acting up. They told me she showed signs of intoxication, was dehydrated, and protein levels in her urine were abnormal, indicating kidney impairment. I had to leave her for the next 48 hours to be treated. I left worried but hopeful that she'd get better. I received a new call from the vet on the day I was supposed to pick her up. It was bad news. Leona hadn't been getting better at all, but worsening. They told me I needed to leave her an extra 48 hours to run more tests and continue treating her with fluids. So here I am, waiting, and hoping to be reunited with Leona soon.
The surprise pet emergency has left me with a big credit card expense that I was not anticipating. I'm hoping my story reaches any sympathetic pet owners out there that understand it is impossible not to help your pet companion when they are sick and in need for care.
