Many of you have followed the amazing journey of Saphira and her seven pups - from rescue, to recovery, to each one finding their perfect forever home.
It's been such a beautiful story of love, hope, and second chances. But now, one of those precious pups, Boston, needs us more than ever.
From his arrival at JFD Boston suffered from an ongoing upset tummy. We switched him to a bland diet and gave him probiotics and although he was active, happy and eating well we were reluctant to send him to his new home. But when the second to last puppy got reserved meant Boston being left on his own in a kennel, all involved agreed he too needed to move on with his life.
After 5 days of settling into his wonderful new home, Boston suddenly became very sick. His amazing family acted fast and got him the emergency care he needed. Following a scan it was discovered that little Boston had a blockage requiring immediate attention.
An operation was planned, but then the vets decided to attempt to scope the blockage out — this procedure saved his life as TWO almost intact toys came out along with an accumulation of bits of material etc. All that was removed had been there for quite some time as his intestines were inflamed, with free fluid gathering.
Sadly, as this was a pre-existing condition the pet insurance taken out will not cover this procedure.
The vet bills are overwhelming and currently stand at £1,316, however this amount is less than half of what was originally quoted for the surgical removal and we are so grateful to Pride Veterinary Hospital for choosing the less invasive scope option as opposed to major surgery.
His loving adopters have given him the absolute world, but they need help to cover these unexpected costs and keep him on the road to recovery.
We're pleading with our incredible community — the same one that helped Saphira and her babies find safety and love — to rally around Boston now.
Please donate if you can, and share this post to spread the word.
Every share and every pound makes a difference!
Let's show Boston and his family that they're not alone — that the love that saved him once can save him again.
