Hi, my name is Marcia.

I am creating this fundraiser because my mother, who lives in Brazil, is critically ill and her condition has worsened unexpectedly. She is only 60 years old, but due to long-term neurological damage from a past illness and a stroke, she lives with severe limitations.

At this stage, my mother is no longer able to communicate verbally, has very limited vision and hearing, cannot walk independently, yet she is still conscious. In recent days, she has lost the ability to swallow food or liquids safely and is aspirating into her lungs, which has made the situation urgent and extremely delicate.

My family now needs to make important decisions about her care, and I feel deeply that I need to be physically present — not only as her daughter, but also to support my family emotionally during this critical time.

This trip was not planned, especially at this time of year, and the costs arose suddenly. The funds raised will be used primarily for:

• emergency airfare to Brazil (for me and my daughter)

• essential travel-related expenses

• potential immediate medical or care-related costs for my mother, if needed
