Emergency Thyroid Surgery for Sadie
Donation protected
Hello Friends,
About 3 weeks ago, we discovered a concerning neck lump on our beloved rescue dog Sadie just bigger than the size of a golf ball. Ultrasounds revealed the presence of a thyroid tumor on her right side. It appears to be growing quickly and is beginning to impact her trachea and esophagus.
Sadie is a 7-8 year old Lab/Pit mix who found her way into our home 4 years ago after having been passed around 3 different rescues and living the majority of her life up until that point in kennels. Sadie came with many challenges when we first adopted her including anxiousness and fear of other dogs due to her nearly being killed by one in a home of her previous owners. However, with a lot of patience, investment in training, and care we were able to rehabilitate her. She is now a silly, incredibly sweet, and well-adjusted dog who refuses to be next to a human longer than 3 seconds without demanding a pet. Sadie has become an irreplaceable member of our family.
Her favorite past times are sleeping, playing tug of war, pulling on the leash toward strange humans for pets, staring at the wall, staring at you, pretending she is a small dog, and passing gas at very awkward moments.
We are reaching out to ask for your help to cover the cost of the thyroidectomy (removal of her right thyroid gland) and the estimated after-care costs. With quick action, Sadie's prognosis is a good one as the mass appears to be contained and has not yet spread to other regions of her body. It would mean the world to us if you can contribute anything toward saving saving Sadie and ensuring she continues to live a long and healthy life.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
