Emergency thoracic surgery

I am a guest in France. On 25 October 2018 I had a heart attack and was transported to the Pitié-Salpetrière hospital emergency room. My aorta was replaced, saving my life. Unfortunately my Medicare insurance will not pay for service outside the US. I’m retired and am not authorized to work in France. My only income is US Social Security and a small pension. I share these with my wife. I would very much appreciate any help. Thanks.
