Hi, my name is Ryan, and I’m raising funds to help my dad through an unexpected medical emergency.
He recently underwent emergency surgery after his appendix ruptured. The infection had spread, and the surgeons had to repair part of his colon, clean out the infection, and place a drain. He is now in the hospital on IV antibiotics and will be there for several days before coming home on additional medication.
This has been a sudden and overwhelming situation for our family. Between the hospital stay, surgery, medications, and time off work, the medical bills and related expenses are quickly adding up. My dad is strong and in good spirits, but recovery will take time, and we want him to be able to focus on healing without the added stress of finances.
We are so grateful for the prayers, love, and support we’ve already received. If you are able to help in any way — whether by donating or sharing this page — it truly means more than we can say. Thank you for standing with our family during this difficult time.
UPDATE AS OF 2/2/2026 05:41
Last night was rough. Dad had more nausea and vomiting, along with pain, but he was able to rest in longer stretches. He’s been sitting up in the chair, which has helped some. They’ve changed his nausea medication, and for now he’s back on a liquid diet until the doctor comes in and decides the next steps.
We’ll likely be here at least another night. The nurse and doctors are watching closely, especially with the infection and the drain. The tube is doing its job, and while it doesn’t look pleasant, it’s exactly what’s needed right now.
His return to work is still uncertain. It could be anywhere from 1–2 weeks or even 4–6 weeks depending on how he progresses. He’ll have lifting and activity restrictions, and because his job requires stairs and physical movement, we’re taking this one day at a time.
We’re choosing to stay until the worst is behind us. We don’t want to take risks at home, and we want to make sure he’s truly stable before discharge.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out, prayed, shared, and supported us. It means more than we can express. Your kindness is carrying us through this.
