Today we were told the words no pet parent is ever ready to hear: our dog has a bleeding tumor, and without emergency surgery, she will have to be put down today. Even now, while she is internally bleeding out, in pain, and actively dying, she walked into the room and tried to comfort us. She nudged close, stayed near, and did what she has always done: put others first. That is who she is. That is her soul. She is not just a pet. She is a soul dog. The kind who senses when someone is hurting and quietly stays by their side. She has helped so many people through depression, anxiety, fear, and grief just by being present gentle, loving, endlessly patient. She is truly the sweetest soul in this world.

She means everything to me. She has been a constant through some of the hardest moments, a source of comfort when nothing else helped, and a reason to keep going on days that felt unbearable. Losing her like this without even trying to save her feels impossible to accept. The surgery is urgent and expensive, and we simply do not have the funds to cover it on such short notice.
