Yesterday evening, Zion and I had to take our beautiful baby boy Angus to the hospital for emergency surgery. We had gone to three different vets/urgent cares that day to figure out what was wrong, after he had lost feeling in his hind legs and stopped using them completely. The first urgent care said he had a slipped disc and needed surgery. Before we committed to that, we took him to his regular vet to confirm the diagnosis. He said the same, and suggested a hospital near by that he trusted for further treatment. The last hospital ran all the tests necessary, and we found out that Angus has a ruptured disc, that has spread to his spine. They told us that surgery was necessary, and if we were to wait, Angus's legs would become paralyzed and he would be disabled. We know surgery can be alot for a dog to go through, and we didn’t want to put Angus through that unless it was truly the only way to help him heal. It was absolutely heart breaking for us to see our baby in such pain, as he is quite literally the best thing that has ever happened to Zion and me. We truly don't know where we would be without him. If you know Angus, you know how true that statement is.

Unfortunately we did not have pet insurance and the total came out to 15,000 which we had to pay up front. Both Zion and I pulled all the strings necessary to make this happen, but the costs have exceeded what we are able to manage on our own, and at this point, we are asking for a little bit of help. We get to pick him up from the hospital Sunday if all goes well, and we are looking forward to having our baby boy back in our home, and back with his brother, Scout, who misses him very much.
