I am a 37 year old Mom of 2 small boys & my husband works in Las Vegas while my children & I live in Utah. I have been diagnosed with severe Gerds disease & a hyatel hernia. I saw my doctor yesterday & he said with the severity of the Gerds, I should have been in the operating room months ago, he isn't sure how I've gone a yr with this pain & discomfort. I haven't been able to: participate in many family outings (& if I do I'm limited on the things I can do), play with my children/family, exercise, or even wear a bra for that matter for a yr now (sorry for TMI but I'm being completely honest). It is getting so bad that talking aggravates it let alone it is affecting my breathing which has put my 9 yr old in tears on many occasions due to not knowing if mommy is going to wake up in the morning. He has slept next to me multiple nights watching me breath to make sure I am still breathing. I finally have gotten the okay for surgery on the 30th but found out the cost of it all & realized I might have to cancel because I have minimal insurance & my family doesn't have the means to pay for it. I have what's called PCN insurance but they only cover PCP visits & 4 prescriptions a month, no specialists, hospital stays or surgeries. I am asking out of fear & embarrassment.
