Hi there, my name is Bella
I’m a 3-year-old German Shepherd, and I’ve got a big story to tell — straight from the heart.

Before I found my forever home, my life was scary and sad. I was discovered in an abandoned house, all alone — except I wasn’t truly alone. I had just given birth to nine puppies, and I was doing everything I could to protect them. But danger was everywhere. The people who rescued me found evidence that I had been attacked by wild dogs, and tragically, one of my puppies didn’t survive. I tried so hard to be brave, but I was terrified, heartbroken, and in pain.

They brought me to a shelter where I waited for nine long months. That’s a long time to sit with grief and fear and still hope someone might come for you.

But then — something incredible happened.

Back in November 2024, a kind woman saw my picture online. She thought I was beautiful (I mean, I am) — but her family wasn’t ready yet. Still, she never forgot me. Months later, in April 2025, she looked me up again… and I was still there. She showed my photo to her husband, and they both just knew — I was the one.

They adopted me. They brought me home. They promised I would never be alone again. And for the first time in a long time, I felt safe. I felt loved.

But then… something scary happened again.

On July 7, 2025, I woke up sick. I couldn’t stop vomiting. I wouldn’t eat. My parents rushed me to the vet — I tested positive for Lyme disease. We thought we’d caught it early, but I just kept getting worse. Eventually, I had to be syringe-fed baby food just to stay alive.

X-rays showed something blocking my intestines. I needed emergency surgery. Fast.

They rushed me to the emergency animal hospital, and I had surgery late that night. It was a risky procedure. The doctors weren’t sure if my intestines had been damaged beyond repair. But I fought. I pulled through. I lived.

And now I’m home. Healing. Happy. Loved more than ever.

But here’s where we need help.

That emergency surgery — which saved my life — came with a huge financial cost. My parents didn’t hesitate. They said yes to saving me, even though they knew it would be tough. My dad lives with a disability, and this unexpected bill has made things even harder.

So I’m asking — if you can spare anything, would you help them the way they helped me?

They saved me. They gave me the life every dog deserves. A second chance. A family. A safe place to rest and play and heal.

If you can give — even just a little — it would mean so much to all of us.

Thank you for reading my story. Thank you for caring. Thank you for believing in dogs like me.

With tail wags and love,
Bella
