Emergency Surgery funds for our sweet boy BO

I have created this account in hopes of helping my cousin Gia, her long time boyfriend Spencer and their sweet dog Bo. They live locally in Fernandina Beach. A few days ago, they noticed Bo was in some pain. They immediately made an appointment for the vet. After some diagnostics, he was diagnosed with a Perineal Hernia and was scheduled to see a specialist. They had an appointment today at First Coast Vetirany specialist is Jax. He was then diagnosed with Bilateral Perineal Hernias with possible prepubic hernia recurrence. Which means his pelvic diaphragm weakened and as a result, his abdominal organs are displaced and are now located in areas surrounding his anus. As you can try to imagine, this must be extremely painful. From now until surgery, Spencer and Gia will have to help Bo go to the bathroom. The specialist showed them how to properly lift his organs to allow Bo to properly have a bowel movement. This was all so sudden, shocking as sad for both of them. This is their beloved child.
The crisis has certainly affected them as well as everyone else. The specialist quoted them very close to $5,000.00. It is extremely hard for most people, not in a global crisis to come up with that amount of money immediately. Specialists and almost all veterinary clinics do not accept payment plans. They will have to provide at least 75% of the estimate they received up front and the rest when he is discharged. The surgery will include Bilateral internal transposition flaps to repair the hernias, he will also be neutered in hopes to shrink the prostate, abdominal exploration with cystoplexy and he will explore the swelling in the left inguinal area. I am a vet nurse and I can tell you this is a very serious and much needed surgery. It also has a very high success rate and he will go on to live a normal and very healthy life. Both Gia and Spencer have applied for Care Credit to receive immediate help to fund the surgery but from personal experience in the field, it may only cover 1/4 of the procedure. The estimate from the specialist is just an estimate and from being in the business, I know it will cost more than the high end of the estimate.
I know these times have been very difficult on everyone and they can not thank everyone enough. They are extremely grateful for everyone who reads, shares and donates to Bo’s surgery. No donation amount is too small, every little bit helps. Please help us save Bo’s life. He is their fur baby and their entire world.  The specialist scheduled the surgery for Tuesday, May 19th in hopes they have the funds, if not, it will be postponed until they can come up with it, and that only causes more harm for Bo. Please help my family.
