As many of you know, my beloved gremlin-pup Tootie (formally, Miss Gristle ) has a pretty bad heart. We went through a lot for it together back in 2020 - and we've had four uninterrupted, healthy, happy years - until recently. After some scary episodes, rushed ER visits and imaging, it turns out Tootie's pacemaker has a screw loose; meaning - sometimes it works - and sometimes it doesn't.

We've been told her pacemaker can be restored to full function with a short, minimally invasive surgery. Without it, her heart will fail.

As you may also know, my life has altered drastically these past few years in many different ways. One of the most difficult (and far reaching) changes to navigate has been significantly diminished financial resources. Suffice it to say, we've been mired for a while. (I am glad to share my story with you offline)

Essentially, we're in need. The bill was $3k from the ER, and I can expect to spend another ~$3k for surgery - in addition to taking time away from work for her recovery.

I simply do not have a way to manage this and maintain my housing/bills as well. I am humbly asking for the help that we need to make it through to the next chapter of our story.

Despite being at risk of sudden passing, Tootie is generally unaware of her youthful-geriatric status and remains happy and comfortable outside of her episodes. She is expected to make a swift and successful recovery with a long life ahead of her. ❤️‍

She is my soul pup, my familiar, my precious baby, teacher and friend. It is an honor to shepherd her through this existence. She saved my life (literally). Please help me save hers one more time.
