To my Family

On the 20th of Sept Natallina and I were involved in a bike accident. It was a head on collision and we were all injured to varying degrees. Lina is recovering after her surgery. But injuries are of a nature and severity that I wont be able to heal without a very intense surgery. My scapula was fractured into several pieces and a number of my ligaments were torn in my right arm. I also head some head trauma and edema but I am recovering from that. Due to the nature of the injury and how long it took for me to recover to a stable condition. I was only able to have an MRI and CT scan done last week. The CT scan revealed some bad news that my Scapula had multiple fractures and would not ever heal without an intense and immediate surgery. Due to the fact that it has been 4 weeks already the bone is starting to fuse out of alignment and if not treated within the week will be inoperable. In addition to this the break is extraordinarily rare. Only 1% of all fractures are of the scapula and of those 1% only 3% of those are multiple severe fractures like mine. Due to this there are very few specialists who are able to operate on me. There are a number of complications involved. First the scapula is completely covered with soft tissue and is not easy to access but worse is that that are 6 major nerves that pass over it and if any of them are damaged during surgery the situation would be even worse. Additionally there are some arteries that also pass over the scapula and so it is a very difficult procedure. My case is worse because the bone has started to fuse out of alignment which means it would need to be cut before it could be pieced back together and aligned properly. Timing is crucial as I only have a few days left in which my Scapula will be operable. If it is not fixed I will lose much of the function in my arm and also have chronic pain from the bone sticking out into my soft tissue. There is a specialist is Kuala Lumpur Who has the necessary experience and ability to operate on me. However the operation is 70000 RM (Malaysian Ringgits) which I did not have. Id like to ask my family for help. I realize this is an inconvenience and if my situation was not this dire and the consequences were not going to be lifelong loss of an important limb I would not ask. However I don't have any other options. I am hoping that this letter will fall upon some gracious hearts.
