Emergency Surgery for our sweet dobe, Darna Dizon

Friends and family,

I’m a new dog dad, asking for your help to take care of an emergency surgery expense for my sweet dog, Darna, a 1-year old Doberman.

Yesterday while I was driving Darna home between a beach visit and class, she saw another dog and jumped out of my car window, and in the process sustained a complex femur bone fracture. Unfortunately, this has required multiple transfers and now a specialist to perform the surgery, and needless to say, the vet bills are piling up.

To make matters more concerning, the vet won’t be able to provide anymore necessary care until 50% of the cost has been paid. The surgery alone has been estimated to be between $8,000 to $10,000, and while I have been able to open up a line of credit for a small portion of the cost, as a new borrower I’m limited in how much I can get a loan for.

For those of you who don’t know Darna, she is new to being my dog, but not new to my family as I adopted her after her former owner, my late grandfather, passed away suddenly in December. Even though I’m still in college and am not totally financially prepared to take on a pet, I wanted to take care of Darna for my grandpa, who would have wanted her to stay with our loving family. Your financial help covering her surgery would do wonders to help me continue to care for her through this difficult time and focus on graduating instead of taking on more jobs to pay her bills.

My grandfather named Darna after the Filipino superwoman, an apt name for a dog who’s had to be resilient through a lot of struggle. Please help me help our superwoman fly again!
