Emergency Surgery for our Bernedoodle Champ

Hi, my name is Corey. I am a resident of the West Allis (greater Milwaukee) community. Yesterday at 4:41 PM, at the intersection of Orchard and 73rd, a male driving what we believed to be a silver 4 door crossover rolled through a 4 way stop and hit my dog who was on a run with my fiancee. My fiancee had him on a 3-4 foot harness attached to her waist and was standing on the curb/corner when the driver rolled through not looking, turned, and ran over our dog, Champ. Champ got caught in the wheel well of the vehicle as he was hit. The driver had all of their windows down, heard my dog, fiancee, and another woman screaming at him to stop and he proceeded to flee the scene. Another driver saw this happen and attempted to pursue, but he fled. Never would I think to be a victim of a hit and run and thankfully my fiancee was not harmed. She thought about trying to take a picture of the plate but made the decision to tend to Champ - a decision I loved that she made.

Champ is a 1 year and 10 month old bernedoodle. He is getting surgery today for multiple fractures in his pelvis and a fractured ilium. He is getting a plate and multiple screws inserted. Granted, he is expected to make a good recovery (thank all that is good), but the bills are expected to be around $8,000-$9,000 total. We are getting married next year but have both agreed our fur child comes before the expenses for our wedding. Any amount would help the unexpected cost of surgery and two-night overnight hospitalization. Thank you in advance.
