Update on Kitara
X-rays show Kitara has a full break in her right thigh bone and a fractured hip. Her leg is dislocated and she can’t walk on it. Surgery is urgently needed to repair the damage and save her leg.
Thank you so much for the support so far — please keep sharing. Every bit helps.
Original post:
Hi, my name is Shahrezad, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart.
My 5 month-old kitten, Kitara, had a devastating accident and fractured her right leg near the knee. She’s currently at the urgent care vet, sedated and undergoing X-rays. The vet told me her leg is severely fractured and will require complex orthopedic surgery to save it. If surgery isn’t possible or affordable, her only other option is amputation.
I’m doing everything I can to keep her out of pain, but the costs are quickly adding up. So far:
• Emergency Exam: $175
• Sedation & Pain Relief: $280
• X-Rays: $300
• Surgery (estimate): $3,000–$5,000+
I recently lost my job and am facing visa uncertainty. I’m doing my best to stay strong, but I can’t afford this alone. Kitara is my little companion, my comfort, and my joy during a really difficult time.
I would be so grateful for any help—whether it’s a donation, sharing this page, or just a kind word. Every dollar helps and brings us one step closer to giving Kitara a chance at a healthy, pain-free life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
