Emergency Surgery for Leo the Cat

Hi, my name is Lauren, and I’m fundraising to save the life of my cat, Leo.

Leo is a fluffy orange sweetheart with the softest heart. He wasn’t originally mine—he belonged to a friend who moved away. When she couldn’t take him, I stepped up because I couldn’t bear the thought of him not having a safe, loving home. He’s been with me ever since, and he’s become a beloved member of my family.

I’m a professional ballet dancer, which means I work very hard—but like many artists, I don’t make a lot of money. And right now, things are especially tight: I’m currently on seasonal layoff from the ballet company I dance with. This is normal for the summer, but it significantly reduces my income and makes it even harder to cover unexpected expenses.

A few weeks ago, Leo got very sick and needed urgent veterinary care. That emergency visit cost me $2,540, which put a huge strain on my finances. I hoped we were in the clear, but his condition has sadly worsened, and now he needs life-saving surgery estimated to cost between $3,500 and $4,500.

Leo is such a gentle, trusting little soul who doesn’t understand what’s happening to him. He’s been so brave through all of this, and it breaks my heart to see him in pain. I want so badly to give him the care he needs and deserves.
