Hi, my name is Laura. As a cat lover with a soft spot for white cats I have set up this GoFundMe on behalf of Rachelle in Davao City, Phillipines.

Rachelle’s sweet three-year old cat Kali has pyometra (a serious potential deadly infection of the uterus) and mastitis and urgently needs emergency vet care.

Rachelle took Kali to Davao Emergency Veterinary Hospital on June 12 because she was not eating, looked weak and was hiding away. After blood tests and an ultrasound, she was diagnosed with pyometra and mastitis. Kali urgently needs surgery but at 20,000 PHP (around $600 CDN / $450 US dollars), Rachelle had no choice but to remove Kali from care (against the vet’s advice) and take her home while she tries to raise the money for further vet care and determine next steps.

Kali is currently at home being monitored, given prescription antibiotics, hunger-inducing medication and vitamins as per the vet. She is stable for now but could take a turn for the worse at any moment with the biggest fear that she might develop sepsis. She desperately needs to get back into vet care asap but this can only happen once at least 20,000 PHP is raised.

Time is of the essence and our goal is to raise these funds before the end of this weekend. If the funds can’t be raised, Rachelle will need to surrender Kali so she can get the life saving care she needs.

Rachelle will share regular updates on Kali through the process including final vet receipts etc.

P.S. Rachelle had previously started fundraising for this using a brand new PayPal account. Unfortunately they have limited her account and all funds contributed through PayPal so far are being held for 180 days (including funds I donated). This has been a major set back that will take time to resolve with customer service and that is why I am now managing the fundraiser from afar.
