Emergency Surgery for Cooper — Help Save Our Sweet Cat
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
This is Cooper — our affectionate, curious, and endlessly sweet 5-year-old cat. He’s been with us through so much, always by our side, following us from room to room, loafing in sunbeams, and headbutting us for attention. But right now, Cooper is in the emergency vet hospital, fighting for his life.
On April 21st, he was showing signs of feeling sick and this morning he became very sick — he has stopped eating, can’t keep his food down, and grew increasingly lethargic. We rushed him to the emergency vet this morning where we found out he had suffered a life-threatening urinary blockage. This is his second time being blocked — and this time, it’s worse.
The vet tried to place a catheter to relieve the blockage but was unable to — his urethra is too narrow.
We were told the only options are emergency life-saving surgery called a perineal urethrostomy (PU surgery) or euthanasia.
There is no decision to make here: Cooper is family, and we’re moving forward with surgery.

What is PU Surgery?
PU surgery is a procedure that permanently widens a male cat’s urethral opening, drastically reducing the risk of future blockages. Without it, Cooper will continue to suffer painful, dangerous episodes that can be fatal. With it, he has a real chance at a long, healthy life.
Cooper’s surgery will take place within the next 24 hours, and the cost is significant — $6,500 for surgery, plus $4,500 for emergency hospitalization, diagnostics, and round-the-clock care. We’ve already taken out a medical loan to get him into care, but the full cost is more than we can manage on our own, especially because I just started a new job and we’re still recovering financially.

How You Can Help
We’re asking for help covering $10,000 to give Cooper the emergency surgery and care he needs to survive and recover. Funds will go toward:
• Emergency vet hospitalization
• PU surgery (happening today or tomorrow)
• Medications and post-op supplies
• Prescription urinary food he’ll need for life
Every dollar makes a difference — and even if you can’t donate, sharing this means the world. Cooper is so loved, and we just want to give him the life he deserves: safe, happy, and pain-free.
Thank you for helping us fight for him.
With love,
Hayden & Adrian
