Hello, as many of you know, I am Melissa. My dog, Butler, is a great dog with one huge major flaw.
He has to eat everything he sees.
And normally, Cody and I are extremely vigilant about what goes in his mouth. However, this dog is sneaky. Socks are his favorite snack. And sometimes it's hard to watch a giant sneaky dog and see what he picks up. Since 1/1, he has been low energy compared to his spastic ways. He couldn't keep water down and food, the light of his life, was no longer appealing. He would throw up after drinking, so we limited his drinking. He didn't seem to care or notice. Like good dog owners, we gave him some water throughout the day, and he continued to barf it back up. Now today, 1/2, he had a bunch of water while I was using the restroom. That's my fault; I should've put his bowl up. And like previous attempts, he threw up. A lot. So I called our vet. The vet said go to vet urgent care. We went to the vet ER, got told to go to vet urgent care, spent 4ish hours there with 3 of my children. Got sent back to the vet ER so he could stay overnight, and now he's looking like he needs surgery.
He had X-rays done already, which confirmed there is some sort of blockage that's refusing to pass. The surgery is becoming more than we can afford.
I'm only asking for what I believe will be the total cost once everything said and done.
