emergency surgery for baby Sage
Donation protected
Tragically this past Friday 8/14/2020 my best friend Mandi's worst nightmare came true with one of her 4 legged babies, Sage. Mandi came home on lunch break to let Sage & her other dog Tank outside. Sage is crate trained and when she came out of the crate she immediately was limping and not putting any pressure onto her left hind leg. She was fine going into the crate that morning. After resting and keeping her energy low that night, Saturday morning it was worse and she brought Sage to an emergency vet where she found out Sage had completely fractured her femur causing it to dislodge and shatter fragments.
Today (monday 8/17/2020) Sage went in for emergency surgery and it was much worse than the vet and Mandi had originally thought. Its going to be a long road of recovery for Sage and will take months, She is so young and such a great puppy for Mandi and the best lil sister to Tank. Sage made it through the surgery however the surgeon is very concerned and with how tough of a surgery it was, Sage will be sedated for 6 weeks with absolutely no movement, future x-rays in 6 weeks will show if it is healing properly and if not then because she is young the next step would have to be amputation of her hind leg.
I am starting this GoFundme because anyone who knows Mandi, knows how much she loves her two dogs and how much they mean to her. This is not something someone plans for with their puppy and it will be a long road of recovery & due to this pandemic affecting Mandi's work, financially this is a hardship and will be for many months.
if you are able to please consider donating any amount to help Mandi during this very difficult and stressful time. if you are unable donate please share. Mandi is the most selfless person I know and does everything she can for her 4 legged babies, lets help Mandi get Sage back home and on the road to recovery!
Thank you so much! I will post updates as soon as possible.
