Our cat Blossom is critically ill and needs emergency surgery to survive. She’s been part of our family for years, but more than that—she’s Alex’s emotional support cat, her constant companion since childhood, the one who sleeps beside her every night and helps her through pain, anxiety, and everything life throws her way. Blossom has an elongated intestinal blockage, and without immediate surgery, she won’t make it. We’re picking her up now to take her to MA-RI Veterinary Emergency Center, and we’ve been told the cost for surgery and recovery will be around $3,000. We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t cover this alone—and we can’t imagine what losing Blossom would do to Alex, who depends on her in ways that are hard to put into words.
