First Landing K9 Search and Rescue is a dedicated group of highly trained volunteers who provide critical search and rescue services at no cost to law enforcement agencies. With more than 20 years of operational experience, our canine teams are called upon to locate the missing and bring closure to families when every minute matters.
Right now one of our most valuable working partners—a Human Remains Detection (HRD) K9 who has received a Hero Award and has been formally recognized by multiple law enforcement agencies for his work. He’s been deployed to Western NC and Tennessee during the floods, all over Virginia and up and down the East coast-is facing a medical crisis that threatens his ability to walk and continue serving. A severe bacterial infection attacked his spine, causing one of the discs in his back to disintegrate and compress the nerves controlling his rear legs. Without surgical intervention, he will permanently lose mobility and be forced into early retirement or worse.
This K9 and his handler Brandy Eggeman have been recognized by multiple agencies and organizations. He does not just represent years of training—he represents families who have received answers, law enforcement cases that were solved, and victims who were finally brought home. With surgery, he can regain function and return to operational duty, continuing the work he was trained and driven to do.
Your donation will directly support:
• Emergency surgical intervention and rehabilitation needed to restore this HRD K9’s mobility and working ability.
Every dollar you give helps protect the dogs who protect our communities. This is not just about saving a dog—it is about preserving a critical life-saving resource for law enforcement and the families we serve.
Please consider donating today and standing behind a working K9 and his handler who have spent their life standing for others.
