Emergency surgery and ICU care

Hello fellow animal lovers! I am a co-worker of Oliver’s mom Carrigan, and part of the veterinary team that has helped provide medical care for Oliver.

Carrigan is on the front lines of our ER helping sick pets on a daily basis. She has devoted years to this profession, selflessly working long days in our veterinary ER to triage, diagnose, treat, comfort and love other people’s pets in crisis.

When her beloved Great Pyrenees Oliver became sick with a GI foreign body, she did not hesitate to provide the emergency care he needed. Oliver had some complications that required a second surgery, and much more time in the hospital than originally anticipated.

His second surgery was to save him from life threatening septic peritonitis. Oliver has miraculously fought the odds and is now in a place that he is eating and hopefully on tract to live a long and happy life . Carrigan has come in on her days off work to sleep next to him in the ICU and provide the love and care he needed during this critical time.

The cost of care for Oliver has quickly exceeded $20,000. Oliver’s family has never asked for charity with his care.

I would ask if anyone is willing to chip in even a small amount, it would be very helpful for Carrigan. I feel it is an opportunity to give a small amount to someone who has devoted her life’s calling to care for pets in need. This calling is not glamorous, or easy, or lucrative- but it is so important and I am thankful for coworkers like Carrigan, and perfect dogs like Oliver.
