Pluto needs Emergency Surgery after Hit-and-Run

Hi, my name is Pluto. I’m a rescue husky and I just arrived in Vancouver. I love playing in the parks and eating my favorite chicken treats. Last night, I tried to walk to the park but a car hit me and just drove off leaving me with multiple pelvic fractures. I need specialized surgery tomorrow, coming with it a great expense or I might not survive.

**Pup Parents’ note: Pluto was adopted through an organisation in Thailand, Pic-a-Pet4Home, that works to re-home abandoned/abused animals. When we found Pluto he was in critical health; 17 pounds underweight with a UTI and severe kidney infection that was causing him to urinate blood. We truly believe he wouldn't have survived much longer without our intervention. After months of regular visits to his veterinarian and a high-protein diet, Pluto has thankfully been a healthy and happy pup for the last two years until this incident.

Pluto needs our help again, but this time at a much higher cost for a much riskier scenario. To see a member of your family hit by a car is truly traumatic and to see the cost of such an incident and needing to weigh it against his life is absolutely heart-breaking. We have some savings but not enough to cover the surgery bills. Pluto has so much potential to bring so much joy to everyone he meets.

Part of our plans to move to BC involved enrolling him to train and become a therapy dog so he can bring his joyful spirit to those who may be suffering.
