My name is Nikolai Chernous and I live in Asheville, NC. Our family immigrated to the United States from the Ukraine in 1992 as refugees seeking religious freedom from the Soviet regime and we have called this country our home ever since. As we now watch what is taking place in our home country of Ukraine I am shaken to the core and I feel compelled to do something to help our people and make a difference.
Following the invasion and ongoing brutal war and destruction of Ukraine in recent days, our family and friends still in the country are in need, both in their own safety as well as in housing and supporting refugees fleeing from bombs, tanks and destruction. It is a very heavy, sad, and scary situation over there right now. We are reaching out to everyone we know to raise financial funds to send to Ukraine. This money will go directly to assist family members and refugees with transportation, food, housing needs and other life necessities. Let us not stay indifferent to the suffering of others and in taking action, together we can alleviate much of the pain, fear and burden.
If you are able and willing, we are asking for any amount and we will make sure that 100% of your donation goes to the suffering people of Ukraine.
Thank you in advance and may the God of peace richly bless you.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.” (Psalm23:4)
