Hello everyone,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for support for our beloved aunt, sister, and mother, Maria Garcia, who was involved in a car accident in the early morning of January 20, 2026, around 4:45 a.m.

Maria was driving her husband to work using their only working vehicle when traffic ahead came to an abrupt stop. Despite braking as quickly as she could, a domino effect of cars stopping suddenly caused a collision. In a selfless act, Maria swerved and took the majority of the impact to protect her husband. While everyone else involved was thankfully unharmed, Maria suffered a severe injury, including a broken knee.

She was rushed immediately to the hospital, where doctors determined that her injury requires surgery. Maria will remain hospitalized for four days starting 1/20/26, followed by at least six weeks of recovery, and then ongoing physical therapy. During this time, she will be unable to work, will require 24/7 care, and will face mounting medical expenses, including surgery costs and copays.

Tragically, her car was completely totaled in the accident. This leaves Maria and her husband without transportation, making it extremely difficult for her husband to get to work and for Maria to attend medical appointments and physical therapy once she is discharged.
