Emergency Support for West Philly Educators!

I am a white non-binary and trans former (lol) parent from Children’s Community School. This morning, I was forwarded the abundant accounts of racialized violence recently shared with current families.

In solidarity with the educators and families impacted by the school’s legacy of anti-Blackness and disposession, I am setting up this go-fund me to collect emergency funds for the current and former teachers exposing their experiences and urging accountability for continued racist and ableist harm at CCS.

All funds go directly to the organizing body of educators and will be distributed as they so desire.

I don’t want our teacher friends to enter into another weekend feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and deeply under supported as this unravels. It’s critical that we take this opportunity to practice living into the values and vision that drew all of us to the school. I personally believe material support is the least we can do as we navigate repair of a potentially incredible West Philadelphia institution! Thank you for sharing with your own communities.
