Hey friends and dear community,
In a nutshell: Our friend Elisa, a trans BIPoC migrant in Vienna, urgently needs financial support after losing her job due to systemic and bureaucratic barriers. We are raising funds to help cover her basic survival needs like rent and food, alongside costly gender-affirming care and legal name-change documents. Please donate today to practice direct trans solidarity, every single euro helps

We are setting up this fundraiser for our dear friend Elisa, who is in big need of financial support right now, as many things are getting in the way of her making a living in Vienna.
Because of Austrian bureaucracy and unfair requirements, she lost her job two months ago and is struggling to find a new one. She's trans, BIPoC, neurodivergent and migra. Like many migra people living in racist and xenophobic Austria, she hasn't been able to find a job despite trying very hard, even though she speaks German and has good educational and professional experience.
The student residence permit in Austria only allows her to work 20h/week (and most positions require more than that) and when she gets close to an opportunity, employers don't want to wait 4 to 6 weeks to be able to hire her (non-EU citizens need an authorization from the AMS to be hired). As a result, she has reached an outrageous situation, which is why we're hoping for some community support until she eventually finds a job.
She has been deprived of every opportunity to provide for herself, opportunities which would be a given to any European citizen. Still, she needs to pay for rent, food, medication and study fees. Other costs are her name rectification process, which is already in process and extremely costly (issuing documents, translations, apostilles) and gender affirming care/treatment like facial laser hair removal.
We'd be very grateful if you could donate. This is a chance to make a real decolonial action, and to practice trans solidarity. Every euro helps :)
All the care,
her friends
