Emergency Support For the Family of El Comité Organizer

Please support our organizer, Lucia, and her family as they experience the devastating impacts of the US immigration system. Check out this note from Lucia:

Hi, my name is Lucia and I’m asking for your help in this sudden moment of crisis. Not long ago, our family received the news of my fathers deportation order.

This is a devastating and unjust moment for our family — emotionally, financially, and logistically. As we prepare for his departure, we’re working urgently to raise funds to support his relocation and help the loved ones he will be forced to leave behind.

My dad has been a devoted hard-working member of our community, running a thriving food business with my mother in Houston, TX, all while battling chronic seizures that resulted from the removal of a brain tumor a couple years ago. My parents' food business will now be forced to shut down leaving my mother unemployed. Because of this, my mother will no longer be able to afford her and my two sisters living expenses, forcing them to relocate with me to Philadelphia as I take them in. We are now scrambling to find a way to keep our family safe and stable during this painful transition, especially closing out my fathers medical appointments.
