I am trying to raise enough to cover one month of rent, bills, essential groceries, cat food, urgent veterinary costs, and time-sensitive passport and residence permit renewal costs while I continue searching for work.

I lost my job in September 2024. I've been seeking work ever since. Finding a new job is still my top priority.

I'm sharing this fundraiser because I need help getting through an immediate financial crisis while I continue my job search. I spend my time applying for open roles and trying to stay afloat, but I've reached a point where I need urgent help covering basic living costs until I can secure employment.

My unemployment benefits ended on February 5, 2026. I'm now receiving minimal support through the Allocation de Solidarité Spécifique (ASS). I've met with a social worker from the Centre Communal d'Action Sociale (CCAS), who helped me access emergency food support. I'm also waiting for the Caisse d'Allocations Familiales (CAF) to assess my file for possible housing assistance. The estimated delay is about six weeks and there is no guarantee that I will qualify.

I also urgently need to renew my U.S. passport, which expires on June 13, 2026, because I need a valid passport in order to renew my French residence permit, which expires on August 10, 2026. The renewal window for my residence permit runs from April 2 to June 4, so these are time-sensitive administrative costs that I cannot postpone. I cannot currently afford the $130 passport renewal fee or the €225 residence permit renewal cost.

My rent is €880 per month, and my monthly bills are about €400. This includes renter’s insurance, health insurance, electricity, mobile and internet service, out-of-pocket medical costs, and payments to the French tax authority.

I'm also caring for my cats, Teddy and Wormie. Wormie has ongoing health issues and now needs further veterinary care, including an MRI to investigate a growth in her chest cavity that could not be identified through two X-rays and an ultrasound. I cannot currently afford that care. This has been one of the most frightening parts of my situation. I've always taken good care of my cats, and I'm doing everything I can to keep them safe while keeping a roof over our heads.

This fundraiser will help me cover urgent essentials, including rent, bills, groceries, cat food, and veterinary expenses, while I continue looking for work. My background is in customer support, support operations, knowledge management, and enablement, so relevant job leads through LinkedIn are also deeply appreciated.

I would also love to return to making videos, but at the moment my aging MacBook (2017) is struggling to handle even simple video editing, which has made that much harder.
