Emergency Support for our Family

I need help. We need help. A family of four; myself, my once-partner and his two little girls (12 and 10).

Help is not something I ask for easily. It never has been.

In August 2024, we moved into a home meant for a two-person income. It quickly became a single-person income within the first two weeks of the move. I have been struggling to support us since. I tried and tried and tried, relying on assistance from a close friend more often than not, just to bridge that gap between paydays when rent was due. When I couldn’t bring myself to ask her because every ask was a shot to my soul, a mark of defeat on my totem pole, we relied on his family.

But this, by comparison, was small help compared to what I need now.

Everything went downhill in the late months of last year.

My radiator went out on my car, our only car, and I lost a lot of work. More money went into repairing it than I could afford with my cut hours from a lack of transport. This put me even further behind, and every time I’d get caught up, be it from extra hours or holiday pay, I’d get sick, or work cut hours, or my tire would go out, or there was an increasingly severe oil leak that I just couldn’t keep up with – neither financially nor timing-wise.

That oil leak took out my car. Lady Blue, my first car, seized, and by the mercy of his family, we were managing to get me to work. But vehicles aren’t infallible, and the excessive miles put on their car to get everyone to work and home was too much. We couldn’t rely on that anymore.

So, I’ve had to give up my job. My job I both loved and hated more than anything simultaneously. I’m applying to jobs around my area, but I haven’t gotten any interviews yet. But I’m not giving up, I can’t, but I need help in the interim.

Currently, I cannot pay next month's rent. Currently, our electricity is at risk of being shut off on the 9th. Currently, I cannot keep enough food in the house to make sure the children have enough to get through the month, even with the food stamps provided. So I ask of you, be it by sharing or donating the few dollars you have to spare, please help.

Money raised will be used to pay the electric and rent, as well as provide food.
