My name is Jalna, and I am setting up this fundraiser for my sister, after her apartment block was devastated by a serious fire over the weekend.

My sister and her daughter, along with the other residents, had to leave the building with almost nothing. They escaped in just the pyjamas they were wearing at the time. The fire was severe, with six fire engines attending, and the apartment block has been completely ruined.

In a matter of moments, she lost her home, her belongings, her clothes, and many of the everyday things most of us take for granted. She is now facing the incredibly difficult task of starting again from scratch.

We are raising funds to help her with the immediate and practical costs that come after something like this, including:

* Emergency clothing and essentials

* Toiletries and personal items

* Temporary accommodation and living costs

* Replacing basic household items

* Supporting her as she begins to rebuild her life

Anyone who knows my sister will know that she would never expect people to help, but this is one of those moments where family, friends, neighbours and the wider community can make a real difference.
