Hi, my name is Nicole. I decided to make this GoFundMe because of my grandma.

My grandma, who is here on a tourist visa, recently suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized for five days. During her stay, she needed two nights in the ICU, which quickly maxed out her insurance coverage of $25,000. The total bill was $31,000, but since insurance covered $25,000, we were able to negotiate the remaining $6,000. Unfortunately, once the coverage limit was reached, her insurance terminated her contract.

After her first admission, our plan was to fly her back home to the Philippines, but we had to wait until the doctors gave their approval. Unfortunately, not even a week later, we had to admit her to the hospital again.

With no insurance and her condition requiring ICU care at $12,500 per night, the costs are overwhelming us. We don’t know how long she’ll need to stay, but the bills are already piling up faster than we can manage.
