Our dear friend Moe Y. has been held in ICE detention for over four months. He was first held in Adelanto ICE Detention and later transferred to a facility in Louisiana. Moe was taken into custody before Thanksgiving and has been separated from his young daughter here in Los Angeles ever since.
If you know Moe, you know he’s the kind of person who lights up a room. He’s been a friend to everyone — at work, in his community, and even to people he’s met while detained. Despite everything he’s been through, he’s staying hopeful about the future and about one day being reunited with his daughter.
After four months without being able to work, Moe is now facing deportation with nothing — no belongings, no money, and no access to credit. He’ll be starting over in a country he hasn’t lived in for years.
We’re raising money to help him land on his feet. Funds will go toward:
• Basic necessities (food, shelter, clothing)
• Legal fees and immigration support
• Getting back on his feet after months of isolation
To ensure the support reaches him responsibly and safely, the mother of Moe’s daughter will manage the funds and distribute them to cover his immediate needs and legal expenses.
We just want Moe to know he’s not alone. Any amount helps — $10, $20, whatever you can give. He deserves dignity and a chance to rebuild and recover.
Thanks for your support! We love Moe as much as you do. Every donation is a reminder to Moe that love travels, even when he can’t see it. Please share on socials!
With gratitude,
Emily, Caroline, and Sasha
