Our Story

Hello, I hope this finds you well,

I’m Edgar, a trans refugee. I had to flee my home county of Uganda due to the torture and persecution I faced for my identity.

Now, I fight for children and their families struggling through the same reality.

Over 40 displaced refugees reside in our camp at a time, with all of us having limited access to food, water, medicine and safe shelter.

About two weeks ago, a fellow refugee advocate and my best friend was found dead near the camp. He had gone missing about two weeks prior.

Several people in our camp spoke with me and told me that this happening renewed their fears of attacks and persecution.

I am now opening an orphanage, in honor of our friend’s memory, called Grace and Love.

The Grace and Love Kids Foundation will further ensure the safety and livelihood of children and families going through crisis and persecution.
