Emergency Support for Hemingway

Donation protected
Hello my name is Jess! Thank you for reading my post and considering your support of my kitty. I know it is probably said often, but I don't usually ask for help or feel very comfortable asking for support, however, Hemingway is very sick and has been struggling to recover from an emergency surgery necessary to unobstruct his bladder, a necessary and life-saving surgery. Typically, cats recover within 1-2 weeks after such a surgery, but that is not Hemingway's journey. So far, he has had the following procedures done:

1) Catheterization to try to drain his bladder from crystal formation causing the obstruction.
2) When the catheter didn't work, Hemingway underwent a cystotomy, bladder surgery to remove stones that had formed from the accumulation of crystals in his bladder.
3) 4 additional trips to the vet to aspirate a fatty cyst that had formed, take additional ultrasounds to assess ongoing pain and inflammation, and multiple urine analyses an cultures.
4) Diagnosed with a UTI post-operation that has not yet resolved.

Currently, he is facing a second catheterization due to suspected crystal formation. His visits have cost about $9000 so far and another catheterization would be $3000. If you can find it in your heart to donate to the costs, Hemingway (and I) would greatly appreciate it to ensure he gets healthy as soon as possible. I do not currently have the resources to continue to cover his vet bills, as they continue to stack up, and I thought I'd try to reach out to the collective animal-lover ether and, with humility, ask for help.

He is such a good boy, loves pretty much everyone, loves other animals, and is being such a trooper through all of this. I've had him since he was a tiny little baby boy and he has been my love and travel companion for the past 8.5 years. He has one of the loudest motors I've ever heard in a cat and has been described as "luscious" on more that one occasion lol. He's also polydactyl and has multiple extra toes on his front paws, which makes it look like he is working with oven mitts, and is just, in general, one of the coolest things about him.

He's been very affective to the amazing vet staff that has taken care of him so far, and any funds you are willing to donate will go straight to his vet costs to resolve the ongoing pain every time he visits the litter box. He continues to strain, have variable output, cries out in pain, and there is still a lot of uncertainty about what is going on.

Thank you so very much for considering.

With love,

Jess and Hemingway
