On January 18, 2026, our lives were changed in an instant.

Cody was involved in a life-altering car accident in Parksville, BC while heading home to Courtenay after helping care for his spouse, who was recovering from surgery. Due to the severity of his injuries, Cody was airlifted to Victoria, where he received urgent, life-saving medical care. He is currently in the ICU on life support, fighting for his life.

My name is Megan, and I am Cody’s spouses best friend. I am helping organize this fundraiser on behalf of his family and loved ones during this incredibly overwhelming time.

Cody’s spouse is still recovering from surgery, and his parents had to fly in from Ontario to be by his side. In the coming days, Cody will be transferred to Vancouver General Hospital for specialized care. At this time, there is no clear timeline, and the situation remains critical and uncertain.

As the emotional toll continues to grow, so does the financial burden. This fundraiser has been created to help support Cody’s family and spouse with:

• Travel and living expenses

• Day-to-day household and personal costs

• Managing Cody’s financial responsibilities while he is unable to work

Cody is a small business owner and due to this, he does not receive government income support. While his ability to work has been suddenly taken away, his financial obligations continue.
