On December 21, 2025, the day I traveled to California to visit a friend, I was detained by ICE agents despite having valid legal documents, including my work permit.
I have been living in the United States for two years, have no criminal record, and have never been involved in any incident. However, during this process, I was treated unfairly because of my immigration status and was told I was guilty simply for being an immigrant.
I was held for 5 days at the San Diego Detention Center, and then transferred to Otay Mesa Detention Center, where I remained for two months.
To secure my release and defend my case, I had to borrow money from my family and friends, accumulating a total debt of $22,000:
$6,000 for two bond hearings
$6,000 for a federal court filing
$10,000 for bond payment
During my detention, my car was lost while in ICE custody, and I am still unable to locate it. My driver’s license was taken, and as a result, I am currently unable to work.
I am now facing serious financial hardship and debt while trying to rebuild my life after detention. Any support—donations or sharing this campaign—would mean more than I can express. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for standing with me during this difficult time.
