UPDATE: Lupie’s biopsies came back as benign! Lupie is Cancer Free!!
On June 6th, our beloved Lupie Lu underwent emergency surgery to remove a massive tumor on her spleen. The tumor was almost six inches, it caused internal bleeding that left her severely anemic. She stopped eating, became weak, and we didn’t know if she was going to make it.
We rushed to Metropolitan and received excellent, state of the art care. She had an emergency splenectomy and two blood transfusions. The situation was critical — without surgery she wouldn’t have survived. We’re still waiting on biopsy results. Her bloodwork show no other signs of cancer. For now, she’s stable, home and recovering with loads of love.
Lupe Lu has been part of our family for over a decade. She’s incredibly sweet, loyal, and full of quiet love. She’s the kind of dog that makes everyone feel safe and calm just by being there. If you’ve ever had a pet like that, you know how deep this bond goes.
Her medical bills are already in the thousands, and we’re doing everything we can — but we need help. If you’re able to contribute anything, even a few dollars, it would mean the world to us and help ease the financial strain of saving her life.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Elisabeth & the Nickles Family
