Emergency Spinal Surgery - Jayson duck Robinson
Donation protected
Hi All,
I am raising money for Jayson ‘Duck’ Robinson on his road to recovery after emergency Spinal Surgery.
After being misdiagnosed from a surfing injury for nearly two years, Jay was rushed into emergency surgery. Jay’s vertebrae C6 and C7 in his neck were snapped, causing spinal cord compression and severe nerve damage. This was causing the body’s nervous system to shut down and loss of function below the level of injury. Jay was facing the possibility of becoming a paraplegic.
The Emergency surgery involved the complete removal of C6 and C7 vertebrae then fusion of C5 to C8. This procedure immediately took the pressure off the spinal cord and Jay started getting movement back into his arms and legs.
However, due to severe damage to the spinal cord, Jay has long term nerve damage, loss of motor skill functions and muscle Deterioration. The road to recovery is going to be a long and difficult one with intense rehabilitation under the guidance of spinal specialists.
Duck needs our support now more than ever.
The funds raised will go towards Jay’s rehabilitation, medical costs and help get his life back on track
Lets get this duck back in the water
