Hi, my name is Jason. A week ago my sailboat's mainsail was destroyed by an unintentional jibe, caused by a nor'easter as I was attempting to transit Eastward through the Bahamas; and that put an end to my plans of making it to the u.s. virgin islands to work/live. After limping back to the Florida east coast on nothing but a storm jib, and having been up for 4 days straight, I was just glad to be alive and dropped anchor just off Boynton beach. However the storm wasn't finished, and the surf was far too rough and coming from far too many angles. The anchor line chafed on the bow chock in the night, and at around dawn on Sunday March 6th my sailboat was beached in Ocean Ridge. I am a working-class schlub, and, aside from the boat, I had but a couple grand saved to help me get along until I found a job in the virgin islands. Now, most of what I had saved has been depleted on food and a motel room every other night, as I try to make my way North to NC. I am asking for assistance, so that I might be able to afford a used vehicle and a first/last/security on an apartment; this will make getting gainfully employed a lot less of a struggle which would help me immensely. So, if you've read this far, thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, JWH
