Emergency Help Needed to Get Danielle, Jesse, and Their Dogs Out of the Cold

Hi everyone. This is Pay It Fur-Ward, and we’re asking for help for someone who really needs it right now. Many of you know Danielle from our updates. She’s been dealing with serious health issues, and as some of you have seen, she’s currently in a wheelchair. With the weather turning the way it is, staying warm and safe has become extremely difficult for her.

Starting tomorrow, Colorado Springs is heading into a stretch of really harsh weather. Tonight alone is dropping to around 15°, and the rest of the week doesn’t give much relief. We’ve got snow, wind, and multiple nights well below freezing:

• Tonight: Snow likely, dropping to about 15°F

• Monday: High of 37°F, low of 18°F

• Tuesday: High near 51°F, low 22°F

• Wednesday: Snow showers likely again, high 35°F, low 16°F

• Thursday: High around 39°F, low 17°F

• Friday–Weekend: A little warmer during the day, but nights still in the low 20s

These aren’t conditions anyone should be trying to get through outside — especially not someone with limited mobility and ongoing medical challenges.

We’re trying to get Danielle into a hotel room for the week so she can get out of the cold, rest, and stay safe. Jesse will also be staying with her in the hotel room, helping manage things at the camp and keeping each other company through the harsh weather. Having both of them together will make a huge difference in staying safe, and it also means the dogs won’t have to be left behind.

The room itself is $318 for the week. We also need to cover the cost for her dogs to stay with them. The hotel charges $25 per dog per day, and the puppies don’t count toward the fee. Altogether, it comes to an additional $250 for the week. Keeping her dogs with her is non-negotiable — they’re her companions, her support system, and she shouldn’t have to choose between warmth and staying with them.

So in total, we’re trying to raise $568 to get Danielle, Jesse, and the dogs safely indoors for the week.

If you’re able to donate, even a small amount helps move this forward. And if donating isn’t possible right now, sharing this fundraiser helps just as much. We know this time of year is tough for a lot of people.

As always, if we don’t reach the goal or if something changes, donors can contact us to let us know how they want their contribution handled. No one should have to worry about their donation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping however you can. We appreciate every one of you.
