Torn families, shattered dreams, and an uncertain future this is the harsh reality. I am Hamed Alostaz from Gaza, Palestine, whose world has been turned upside down by war.

As a father of two young children—Joud, who is seven years old, and his younger brother, who is five—and a beloved wife, Rawan, who suffers from the horrors of war with boundless pain, I am overwhelmed by fear every moment. I know that my family and I are trapped in Gaza amidst fear, illness, hunger, and a lack of essential medical supplies. Every day, I agonize over the safety of my children, knowing that the horrors they witness may leave lifelong scars.

The imminent arrival of our new child fills me with both hope and terror. Hope for a new life, but fear dominates our thoughts about the challenges we will face without proper nutrition and medical care.
