Hi, my name is Jade and I am in need of your help. I recently got dental insurance for the first time and was able to get a cavity filled. I have been living in constant and increasing pain and discomfort ever since. I followed up with the dentist a few times afterwards and they told me that the pain was normal and should subside within a few months. This past weekend the nerve pain became so relentless and intense that I contemplated visiting the ER. I went back to the dentist as soon as their office opened on Monday and they told me that the nerve in my tooth was damaged during the filling procedure. They injected some medication into my tooth and a temporary filling and said the pain would be back and more severe in a week or less and at that point I'll have to proceed with an emergency root canal or extraction. It's been two days and the pain is already returning. :(

My dental insurance does not cover root canals or caps on molars.  I grew up poor and I’m still living paycheck to paycheck. I don't have savings, I can't get a credit card. I was laid off of my job on Monday because of the Coronavirus.

I know so many people are struggling with their teeth and not having access to dental care. It can be so painful and my heart hurts for everyone that’s had to endure this. I was quoted at $2400 for the root canal and crown. If I am unable to afford the root canal and I have to get this tooth extracted I will no longer be able to chew with the left side of my mouth at all because I have been missing other molars on that side since early childhood.
