Emergency Root Canal Financial Assistance Needed!

my name is línda (they/them): an artist living in New Haven in need of help.

early November i attempted to get some D-D-D-DENTAL problems addressed at a free dental clinic. to my dismay, i experienced a failed filling that led to the most excruciating pain i have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. i landed in the ER at 4am after a week of trying to “heal” and ultimately decided i needed to see a dentist to figure out what was going on. and so i started to pay out of pocket to receive services to literally save my life — if you’ve ever had nerve shattering teeth pain, you know i am not exaggerating — and quickly learned i needed an emergency root canal. i was able to borrow the money i needed from my sister to start the process however need help coming up with enough to cover the crown, the added medical expenses having experienced a serious infection post root canal, and to pay my sister back.

sadly, we’ve all heard this story before. to be in a position where you do not have dental insurance and have to cough up around $3,000 for procedures that feel like a human right. because, as we know, the USA love to fund wars over funding universal healthcare for all.

i believe the act of asking for help is a vulnerable and precious practice of community care. AND it is a precious gift to be able to so do, to ask you for help.

the ultimate GOAL is $2,500

$1,100 — For the Root Canal Procedure

$1,200 — For the crown

$200— For the medical expenses (co-pay, meds, etc) due to pain and infection
